[Thunder3 Quad Mini] Why can I not boot macOS from the external drive?

We found that when installing macOS on a Samsung PM863 SSD, it's not possible to boot from this drive. Please use a different drive model instead as your startup disk (e.g. Samsung 850 EVO, Samsung 850 Pro, Samsung 860 EVO).
