Sante Fe Springs, CA, May 9th, 2011 / ‐‐ AKiTiO, www.akitio.com, a storage solutions company dedicated to providing forward‐thinking technology to the consumer, introduces the first personal cloud server series.

MyCloud is actually a series of "personal cloud" storage devices where users can readily access and share their stored digital content from any Internet connected computer.

Cloud storage services have been around for a while now, but many people are still skeptical of storing their personal content on someone else's server for fear that the service they subscribe to may not be around in a few years, and also because they fear that the services are not secure enough and others may gain access to their personal files. MyCloud puts these fears to rest, as the content is safely stored in your home and only shared with those people that you grant access to.

AKiTiO believes that the digital home is evolving into a place where there are no barriers or limits. MyCloud provides the user with the ability to seamlessly store, organize, share, and access their music, movies, and photos. The i‐sharing platform, the heart of the personal cloud server, ensures that the high standards and user experience is interactive. It is a powerful, yet flexible system.

Functionality includes the storage of media and the ability to stream content directly to your media player for television viewing. Along with the ability to stream music directly from Apple iTune’s, users can enjoy a complete “media center.” In addition, the ability to share information among several workstations provides users with accessibility and integrated data back up capabilities that are unmatched.

Easy access and file management through the Web Browser interface, provides users with the instant availability of their personal digital content. Providing safe storage and back up, the complete set‐up of the system takes less than 45 seconds.

Starting at just $149.00, the MyCloud series is the next step up in the evolution of home network storage drives. It is no longer a PC centric product that requires a skilled system administrator to set up and maintain but a product that is designed to be user friendly and connected, anywhere and anytime. “We pride ourselves in bringing sophisticated technology to the consumer that was otherwise not available due to the simple fact that it was not cost-effective. Now we are bringing that same quality and speed to the consumer,” comments Jason Chen, AKiTiO’s Vice President of Marketing.
